Abu Dhabi: Sheikh Zayed Festival opening date revealed

The iconic Sheikh Zayed Festival will return to Abu Dhabi’s Al Wathba neighbourhood from November 17, 2023, to March 9, 2024, according to the organising committee.

The event will be organised with the support of the President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and under the direction of Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of the Presidential Court, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The event’s great lineup of important cultural, entertainment, social, and sporting events is promised for this year.

The committee noted that the annual festival will continue to focus on promoting its main messages of preserving the national heritage, affirming the depth of the Emirati civilization, and passing it on to future generations, as well as boosting its role in promoting Abu Dhabi’s status as a leading tourist and cultural destination in the region and throughout the world. The committee is intensifying its preparations for the launch of the new edition.

The event is named after the late country’s Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, to honour his pioneering work in preserving the nation’s history and culture.

The committee emphasised that it has been adding new events that will strengthen the festival’s reputation as one of the most important cultural and historic occasions that captures the essence of the UAE.

Every year, thousands of tourists go to the festival, a top tourist destination, to take part in family-friendly events and enjoy the celebration of Emirati culture.
